Satin Steel Colours handles offer a larger diameter and help lighten the instrument grasp and reduce hand fatigue. The Colours handles come with cushioned color-coded Signature Series rings which help you to organise your instruments and identify them according to the anatomical areas in the mouth (e.g. Gracey Curettes).

Gracey #15/16 Same shank as 13/14, but blade positioned to reach mesial posterior surfaces.

Mini-Five curettes:

-terminal shank elongated by 3 mm for access into deep periodontal pockets and root surfaces of 5mm or more

-reduced blade, half of the length of the After-Five or Standard Gracey, for better adaptation in narrow pockets and furcations

-blade is 10% thinner than Standard Gracey to ease gingival insertion and reduce the tissue distention

-area-specific design patterned after the Standard Graceys offers exact adaptation and control

-available in rigid and extra rigid designs for greater strength when needed

Gracey curettes are area-specific to allow for deep scaling, root planing and periodontal debridement. They have an offset blade which provides a perfect working angulation for the tooth surface. Offset blade angulation means only the lower cutting edge of each blade is used.

Did you know that the first Gracey curettes were produced by Hu-Friedy? In the late 1930s Dr. Clayton H. Gracey wanted to give every dentist the possibility to treat even the deepest and least accessible periodontal pockets simply and without traumatic stretching of the gingiva. Dr. Gracey brought his idea to Hugo Friedman, the founder of Hu-Friedy, who supoorted his concept. Together they developed a series of 14 single-ended area-specific instruments for the successful removal of deposits from root surfaces. Dr. Gracey´s design laid the groundwork for the new instruments of today.
